HALE Communications to Sponsor Charity Miss Amazing Pageant; First of It’s Kind in Illinois

HALE Communications is honored to sponsor the Miss Amazing Pageant in Edwardsville, Illinois on April 20-21, 2013.  The first event of it’s kind in Illinois; it will take place at Edwardsville High School.  The Miss Amazing Pageant is a special needs pageant that provides young girls and women (ages 5-35) who ordinarily would not be afforded the opportunity at other pageants, the chance to showcase their abilities in a secure and supportive environment.

Miss Amazing is unlike other pageants because the contestants’ entry fee is just 5 cans of food.  The Illinois pageant will donate the canned goods to Granite City All Nations Ministries.  Also, 70% of event proceeds will go to Trinity Services, an Illinois-based charity that assists disabled individuals in independent living.

The Miss Amazing Pageant was established in 2007 and has held events in nearly 30 states.  To date they have raised nearly $20,000 for charitable causes and about 1000 lbs. of food.  Rather than focusing on the more competitive aspects of pageantry, the event teaches the girls to focus on community involvement, lifelong friendships, and reaching their own goals.  This event is about each girl and of what she is capable.
